Information stored by the app
Chef Library stores recipes, photographs, chef profile details, client names, dietary notes, allergy selections, meal plans, shopping lists, pantry items and service plans in private storage on the user's device. This information is not transmitted to the developer.
Optional iCloud sync
If enabled, Chef Library stores an app backup in the user's private Apple iCloud account so their library can be recovered and used on their own devices. The developer cannot access that private container. Apple's terms and privacy policy govern iCloud processing.
Website searches and imports
When a user searches for or imports a recipe, the app connects to the selected search engine and recipe website. Those sites receive normal technical information associated with a web request and operate under their own privacy policies. Chef Library does not share Safari browsing history.
Camera and photo library
Access is used only when the user chooses to scan a recipe, select recipe pages or attach a photograph. Selected images are stored privately within the app.
Notifications and backups
Optional notifications alert users when a cooking timer finishes. Exported backups are created only at the user's request and remain under the user's control.
Analytics, advertising and tracking
Chef Library does not currently include third-party advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs and does not require a Chef Library account.
Allergy information
Allergen detection is an ingredient-screening aid, not a guarantee that food is safe. Users remain responsible for confirming requirements, checking labels and considering substitutions and cross-contamination.
